PUPPY INFORMATION

Puppy Application:

If you are interested in getting a Puppy from Northwoods Mystic Pawz, please fill out the Application HERE.

Puppy Application:

Application Process -

The Application process for acquiring a puppy is designed to ensure that each puppy is placed in the right home where they will be loved, cared for, and thrive. Applicants are required to complete a detailed Application form. These questions will ask for information regarding your experience with pets, your living environment, lifestyle, and readiness to take on the responsibilities of raising a puppy. It’s essential that all answers are truthful and comprehensive, as the information provided is used to determine whether or not you are a suitable fit for one of the puppies.

As part of the Application process, you will also need to consent to a Background Check. This includes verifying your identity and reviewing relevant factors that ensure you can provide a safe, stable home for a puppy. If the information provided in the Application is not sufficient or accurate prior to the Background Check, your Application will be declined. If the Application and Background Check are successfully completed with all necessary information and clear records, you will be approved to move forward with the next steps.

Being approved for the Application will place you on the General Waitlist for future litters. However, please be aware that being on the Waitlist does not guarantee immediate or prioritized contact, as the selection process is based on matching the right puppy with the right home. The Application process is an important step in ensuring that each puppy is placed in an environment that meets their needs and provides the best possible quality of life.

The General Waitlist:

How It Works -

The General Waitlist is for applicants who have completed the Application Process and Background Check. Once approved, applicants will be added to the list; however, being on the waitlist does not guarantee priority when puppies become available (as stated above). After the puppies are born, all applicants will be notified. At 7 weeks old, each puppy will undergo a temperament test to assess their personality, energy level, and needs, ensuring the best possible match with a suitable home. At 7.5 weeks, applicants will be contacted based on the puppy’s needs and how well they align with each applicant’s lifestyle, ensuring the puppy is placed in the most fitting environment.

Once the puppies are ready for selection, applicants will have the opportunity to choose a puppy based on their suitability to the family’s lifestyle. This means that not all applicants may be selected for a puppy from the litter, as placement depends on each puppy’s characteristics and the family’s needs. For instance, a high-energy puppy may be placed with an active family, while a calmer one may be more appropriate for a laid-back home. The goal is to place each puppy where they will thrive, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach.

Puppy Holding Fee:

Holding a Puppy

A First Pick Reservation Fee may be accepted before puppies are ready for individual selection, including before the litter is born. A First Pick Reservation allows an approved applicant to reserve either First Female Pick or First Male Pick from a designated litter. The Reservation Fee reserves the applicant’s designated pick position, not a specific Puppy, and does not guarantee that a particular Puppy will be available or suitable for placement with the applicant.

Puppy selections are made at approximately 7.5 weeks of age following the Breeder’s temperament, structure, and overall placement evaluations. Puppies are matched based on the Applicant’s lifestyle, goals, preferences, and intended purpose. A First Pick Reservation does not override the Breeder’s matching and placement process.

Once a specific Puppy has been selected, a Puppy Holding Fee Agreement will be completed using the selected Puppy’s individual information. The original Reservation Fee amount and original date of payment will be carried forward and documented in the Puppy Holding Fee Agreement and applied toward the final purchase price of the selected Puppy. No additional Holding Fee will be required solely because the Reservation Fee was paid before a specific Puppy was selected.

Applicants who do not hold a First Pick Reservation will proceed through the General Waitlist and matching process described above and will not receive a reserved First Pick position.

First Pick Reservations and Puppy Holding Fees are subject to the terms of their respective agreements.

Holding Fee -

The Puppy Holding Fee is applied toward the final purchase price of the selected Puppy.

Applicants who reserve First Female Pick or First Male Pick prior to puppy selection will pay a First Pick Reservation Fee. Once a specific Puppy is selected, the original Reservation Fee will be applied toward the Puppy Holding Fee, with no additional Holding Fee required.

Applicants who do not hold a First Pick Reservation will pay the Puppy Holding Fee once a specific Puppy has been selected through the matching process.

The Holding Fee is non-refundable. However, if more than one Puppy was originally offered to the Applicant through the matching process, the Applicant may use the Holding Fee one time to switch to another Puppy from the same litter, provided the alternate Puppy remains available. Once the one-time switch has been used, no additional changes will be permitted. If the Applicant chooses not to proceed with a Puppy, the Holding Fee will be forfeited.

Holding/Reservation Fees MUST be paid via Good Dog or Stripe. Klarna through Good Dog is not offered for the Holding Fee (or "Deposit" as listed on Good Dog).

Pick Up/Delivery Day:

Pick Up -

Before your puppy leaves the Breeder's care, the remaining balance must be paid in full no later than three (3) days prior to the puppy reaching nine (9) weeks of age. Payment must be successfully processed and confirmed by Northwoods Mystic Pawz before the puppy may be released.

Accepted payment methods include the Good Dog Platform and Secure Electronic Payment via Stripe (7 days in advance). Once payment has been received and confirmed, you will receive a signed copy of your Puppy Purchase Agreement. Prompt payment is required to ensure all necessary arrangements can be completed before your puppy's scheduled departure.

I DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS, CASH APPS, OR OFFER PAYMENT PLANS PERSONALLY. However, Good Dog offers Klarna for the remaining puppy balance after the Holding Fee (or "Deposit" as listed on Good Dog) has been placed.

Delivery -

In the case of acquiring your puppy through Ground Transportation, the remaining balance of the puppy must be paid in full no later than three (3) days prior to the puppy reaching nine (9) weeks of age. Payment must be successfully processed and confirmed by Northwoods Mystic Pawz before the puppy may be released for transportation.

Failure to complete payment by the required deadline may result in cancellation or delay of the puppy's scheduled transportation, and any applicable cancellation or rescheduling fees charged by the transporter may be the responsibility of the Applicant. Once payment has been received and confirmed, you will receive a signed copy of your Puppy Purchase Agreement.

Reasons For a Waitlist Removal:

General Waitlist

If, after 72 hours of the breeder attempting to communicate with the buyer regarding the chosen puppy (whether it pertains to scheduling for pick-up/delivery or general inquiries), the Holding Fee will be forfeited, and no refund will be issued due to a lack of communication. The 3-day timeframe is considered sufficient for responding to messages, especially given the significance of the matter concerning acquiring a puppy. While follow-up messages will be sent, the countdown begins from the initial message until a response is received from the buyer. Communication is a critical aspect, particularly when it involves contacting the buyer about a puppy that is soon to be in their care. The Puppy Purchase Agreement explicitly emphasizes the importance of timely communication, including messages, photos, videos, and updates.

Registration Options:

Limited Registration -

Limited Registration will only be granted following a thorough approval process. Prospective owners must submit an application for consideration. If approved for Limited Registration, it is mandatory to spay/neuter your puppy/dog at 18 months of age, with the procedure to take place no earlier than 18 months and no later than 18 months. With Limited Registration, the privilege to breed your puppy/dog is not conferred. All puppies will be pre-registered at the breeder's expense prior to leaving for their new homes. Puppies with Limited Registration are exclusively available to active/working homes. Please note that any financial transactions made are non-refundable. Select litters will undergo Embark testing, and in those cases, I will personally ensure each chosen puppy is tested prior to going to their new home. This reflects my commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of every individual puppy in my breeding program.

Full Registration -

The availability of Full Registration for the Shepksy has not been conclusively determined. While I have intentions of incorporating purebred individuals into my program in the future, with Full Registration being an option, currently, Full Registration is NOT available for the Shepksy.

NOTE: 'Limited' or 'Full' refer to Breeding Rights, not "formal" registration papers. The purpose is to define whether breeding is permitted. All pups will be registered with ConKC (for mixes) and AKC (for purebreds). Both registries offer a 'Limited' Registration type that only I as the Breeder can change, and 'Limited' will always be applied whether the pup is purebred or mixed. Including the ones that will be used for breeding purposes as they will need to meet requirements listed in the Purchase Agreement before registration type is changed to Full.

For those unfamiliar, any pup obtained with Limited Registration (unless placed on a conditional breeding contract after meeting required criteria) may also be registered through the AKC Canine Partners program. However, the dog must be spayed or neutered to participate, which, per contract agreement, may not be done earlier or later than 18 months of age. The purpose of the AKC Canine Partners program is not formal recognition in the same manner as a purebred dog. Mixed breeds enrolled through this program do not hold the same registration status as AKC-recognized purebred dogs. Instead, Canine Partners simply provides mixed breeds the opportunity to participate in various AKC performance and companion sports.

If you wish to enroll in the AKC Canine Partners program before 18 months, you be REQUIRED to have hips and elbows radiographed to confirm the growth plates have closed (making sure to share which Vet Clinic performed them so I can too, verify the procedure was done and that the plates are indeed closed).  While many large breeds take longer, often closer to 18 months, the extra care ensures it’s safe for them to be Spayed/Neutered as well as safe to compete in sports.
